Following their expansion into the Indian market, ShieldCrest have now made arrangements to have their author’s books printed for distribution in South Africa. Shipping books outside Europe is very expensive so to maximise on opportunities, it is important to have them printed and distributed locally.
The population of S. Africa is approximately 50 million of which about 45% speak English although in many cases it might not be their first language. Total book sales are approximately £70million of which academic and teaching resource books account for over half at present with half being novels.
eBook sales have not taken off to the same extent in South Africa where hard copy books are still the main source of reading and there is a particular appetite for children’s books.
George Bell’s book recounting his diving adventures, is the first of our author’s books to be printed in S. Africa and distributed through Adams bookshops, South Africa’s largest retailer. Most of his adventures were off the coast of Cape Town so it is hoped this could be of particular interest to the local population. His book “A Lifetime of Diving Adventures” will be going on sale in March.
Congratulations to George on being the first and we hope his book achieves the success it deserves.
