Description
Besides production function, maintenance is one of the pivotal activities in any industry. Significant cost is generally incurred yearly to improve plant Reliability and Maintenance (R&M).
Improvements in R & M positively impacts operational cost, plant downtime and safety, which could eventually dictate the global competitiveness of any organisation. This therefore highlights the importance of efficient and effective Maintenance Models in any industry.
Industries worldwide are constantly implementing tools and strategies that are aimed at improving R & M. While a significant number of companies have successfully attained maintenance excellence, it is fair to say that the platforms for sharing practical plant maintenance knowledge and best practices is still limited when compared to other fields of engineering.
Based on this premise, the currently launched Journal of Maintenance Engineering (JoME) aims to provide a common platform by which professionals, engineers, practitioners and researchers working in the field of plant maintenance and reliability can share their experience by publishing their works.
The current issue contains a wide range of topics related to plant R & M by both plant engineers and members of the academia.
