Andrew Falconer, Head Gardener and newly published author finds himself a guest at his future Father-in-law’s home just outside the French city of Lyon having started a romance with his daughter “Danielle” after a chance night-out in an English pub. Yves Duranton, a successful French chemical engineer, and in many ways a brilliant man; although sometimes unconventional and highly critical of modern-day-society, unreservedly welcomes Andrew into the family circle.
A growing friendship soon begins to develop between the two and the rest of the Duranton’s. As his stay there continues Andrew starts to realize that his new found experience of Anglo French relations is not only hugely beneficial for his own personal development, but also in broadening his views on a worldly and political level which helps him to find his true vocation in life; that of a future writer and artist.
This volume also includes some of Falconer’s most influential and memorable experiences as a young boy and teenager and an early selection of his first poems written in French.
